[Details of Customer Request]
We received a request from Tobu Toptours Co., Ltd. To organise and host an online meet-and-greet session between the Singapore Paralympics Team and their host town in Japan for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, Mihama Town in Aichi Prefecture.
[Project Implementation]
Upon receiving this request; we reached out to the Singaporean Paralympic Athletes, the Singapore Paralympic Council, the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth of Singapore, and the Singapore Embassy in Japan to invite them to the online meet-and-greet session with the Mihama Town Hall. There was clearly a lot of support on both sides for this event to take place, and many people registered their interest to join in. Traditionally, an event like this would take place in person at the host town, but due to the challenges presented by the pandemic, moving to an online platform was the best alternative and had its fair share of benefits, such as convenience to all parties involved, and being able to invite a greater number of people from various backgrounds to participate.
[Duration of Project]
2 Weeks of Preparation and 60 Minutes for the Event Itself
[Age Group of Participants]
20 to 50
[Customer Feedback]
With the pandemic, I was unsure if we would be given the opportunity to meet our host town, which made this event all the more meaningful. It was nice to be able to speak with the mayor and the residents of our host town, sharing our experiences as Paralympic athletes and to answer their questions, while also hearing about their culture and traditions.Meeting with the Singaporean athletes was a very unique experience, especially because it is not often that we get to talk to Paralympic athletes, much less those from overseas! It was fun to listen to what they had to say, and it got me interested in the Paralympics, so I will be sure to watch the games on TV and cheer them on!
